It’s only been a few hours since her arrival and this Logitech G510 is already getting that “I’m used!” look.

I’m hardly the only woman on earth who knows why Barbie was loathed by many girls during the 80s, the same way i know i’m not the only girl who hacked Barbie’s locks that was only available in the homogenous colour of blonde. Thankfully – the best Barbies in my life were real women in the living world. My favourite one of all time – would be my own mother. It’s been an interesting transition to find myself falling into that role during my adult life.
Enjoying the process of setting up my own personal speed modelling challenges now by setting the timer, wanted to see if i could model an entire Barbie figure within 1 hr. I was worried I couldn’t achieve it but found myself pleasantly surprised. It took me another hour to model the hair & box.
I was 34yo when i finally found the toy version of my dream Barbie. My grrlfriends & I were on a weekend getaway and we found ourselves in a bizzare opp-shop located in Oberon. I was busy oogling the weapons & bullet belts and then one of them called out to me with;
“Hey Ayç! You’re gonna love this! Check it out!”

Now is not the time for me to break out in birth story. I’ve only ever been able to debrief from it in segmented chunks via Newtown Mums over the years, but i’m sure the day of seeing it all living within one box may eventually arrive. In the meanwhile, the following below is the result of various thoughts that came up while I was producing the image above.

Draft structural prototype for Aidan’s bunk bed. Still have a fair way to go with the design but definitely going ahead with the build. Keen to work with merbau atm but will see how things go after a bit more recon with local timber.

Enjoying the new upgrade to LW11. Strong signal demanding that i need to spend more time in layout and to touch base with the strawberry journey atm.
